Cartilage lesions due to degeneration or injuries cause pain, limiting patient’s capability for physical activities. The joint disorder significantly impacts one’s quality of life and has become a major health concern in our society. Currently, these is no therapy available for effective repair of defected cartilage. Our mission is to develop and evaluate stem cell-based therapies as regenerative treatments for cartilage repair to address this urgent medical need.

To achieve our mission, we perform laboratory research to gain a better understanding of stem cell aging for preparation of quality therapeutic cells and more insight into differentiation induction of stem cells for cartilage regeneration.
